Sampo Rosenlew
PIONEER IN CUSTOMER-ORIENTED PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT
Sampo Rosenlew Ltd has been operating on the same plot at the heart of Pori for over 150 years. The roots of its industrial operations go back to 1853 when the family company Oy W. Rosenlew Ab was founded. Sampo Rosenlew was founded in 1991. Today the company is known worldwide for its high-quality combine harvesters and forestry machines.
The manufacture of combine harvesters began in 1957. The company has delivered more than 50,000 combine harvesters to approximately 50 countries during 60 years. Its key market areas are the Nordic countries, Europe, North Africa and the CIS countries. More than 90 per cent of its products are exported.
Sampo Rosenlew invests in product development and is constantly looking for potential new markets for its products. Customized concepts are available for the developing countries. The company has assembly plants in North Africa and Kazakhstan, where the frames imported from Finland are turned into a complete combine harvester using local workforce. Exporting knowhow will of course be followed by subcontractor networks specific to the target country in order to address component and spare part needs.
Sampo Rosenlew's products are considered to be of high quality also among its toughest competitors. Cooperation with the world's largest agricultural machine manufacturers allows the family company to grow globally. AGCO acts as an important strategic partner and is responsible for the distribution of combine harvesters in Finland and the other Nordic countries. Deere & Company, in turn, sells combine harvesters to Western and Central Europe.
Forestry machines were included in production in addition to combine harvesters in the late 1990's. Sampo Rosenlew specializes in forest thinning solutions. Several customer feedback surveys and the company's own tests indicate that thinning has important economic and forest management benefits when carried out using machines specifically designed and manufactured for that purpose. Forest owners in Europe have already understood this for a long time, and now the trend can also be seen in Russia and North America.
Sampo Rosenlew employs approximately 450 professionals from different fields in production, product development and service duties in Pori. The company recognizes the importance of committed, motivated, competent personnel, who can never be completely replaced through production automatization.
FR28 FORWARDER
Sampo-Rosenlew has responded to customer demands by designing the FR28 forwarder, which is suited for thinning operations. This 10-tonne load bearing forwarder is designed to complement our harvesters.
FR28 FORWARDER
Forwarder FR48
The popularity of the FR28 forwarder quickly led to inquiries after a slightly larger machine. The clients wanted a machine they could use for later thinning that could also be used for regeneration felling.
And so the FR48 forwarder was born. This FR28’s big brother has a payload of 12 ton. The main concept is built around tried and tested solutions. The motor is the same Agco Power 49 LFTN diesel with 140 kW maximum power, the cab is the same; practically the whole front end of the machine is the same with the exceptions of the axles.
Forwarder FR68
The FR68 forwarder is a completely new machine model. The machine is meant for later thinnings and final cutting, where great capacity is required from the machine. The nominal load capacity of the machine is 14 ton. The load space is easily modified, which makes the machine more usable in different conditions and with different load lengths. The FR68 has been designed to work alongside the SAMPO ROSENLEW HR86 harvester. Together they form a highly efficient and modern harvesting team.
HR46X Harvester
HR46X is the number one choice for first thinning. Even more powerful than its predecessor, the HR46, the HR46X is now equipped with a larger 140cc pump and more powerful Acgo Power 49 AWF engine. These changes improve efficiency while reducing fuel consumption, which directly results as increased profitability for the business owner.
In order to move from tree to tree as fast as possible without increasing RPM, the power transfer is fully hydrostatic. The gear change of variable speed engine is done digitally and even automatically, if desired. An operating mode can also be selected from the operation automation menu, which increases the diesel engine RPM to maximum, which automatically allows maximum transfer speed.
The cabs of Sampo-Rosenlew harvesters have always been placed on a separate frame from the engine, so the comfortable and quiet work environment is the same familiar operator experience operators have become accustomed to. When you add on the aforementioned changes, a decrease in RPM, and the removal of the gear shifter from the cab, in addition to numerous other changes to this model, the cab of the HR46 is astonishingly quiet.
Harverster HR86
The starting point of the design of the completely new machine type, the HR86 harvester, was to offer forestry professionals a machine for high-quality and cost-effective later thinning and final cutting done in varying and even demanding conditions. In our opinion, we have succeeded in this.
